Provide on-going support for community members experiencing the devastating reality of the death of a loved one.
Offer the opportunity to learn how to understand all feelings of grief.
Welcome anyone who needs support and understanding in a time of grief regardless of any or no religious affiliation.
Feature a monthly presentation on the grieving process. Various speakers are carefully chosen to share their stories, their professional expertise or the impact of the death of their loved one, whatever the nature of the death.
Extend the opportunity, after the presentation and refreshments, to meet in small groups with others having similar loss experience from death. Presently there is facilitation for a bereaved parents' group, a bereaved spouses' group, a group for parents whose baby has died by miscarriage or infant death, a group for bereaved youth and young adults, and a general group for bereaved family members or friends.
Encourage participants to ask questions, share feelings or just listen.
Welcome educators, medical personnel and interested community members to attend our meetings to hear featured speaker presentations.
